Following the release of his third full length, No Better Time Than Now, Shigeto revealed a new video this week for the album’s first single, “Detroit Part 1.” From monochrome scenes in a derelict wasteland to bursts of immense liquid-colours, the video leaves a lot to be questioned and a lot to be discovered. Just over a minute in, a trigger is pulled and pupils are dilated, then the pounding hip-hop beat comes in and from there it’s certainly a dream-like journey, you can’t help but get involved in.
Meanwhile, Shigeto kicks off his tour with Beacon and Heathered Pearls tonight and will be on the road with them well into October.
ADULT. will be playing a number of festivals and one-off shows between now and October. Tomorrow also sees the release of the Tonight, We Fall single, which features the originally track alongside a rework from John Foxx & The Maths.
We’re proud to announce the release of Andy Gilmore’s Nebula Series, the first self-contained body of work the artist has released under Ghostly International Editions. The series, comprised of six stunning compositional variations on a theme, is some of Gilmore’s most poetic work to date, juxtaposing geometric pattern, gaseous color shift, and negative space to evoke a sense of celestial wonder.
The series is available individually in two sizes of limited edition prints and also as a limited edition, custom made cloth-bound artist folio containing the complete set.
Shigeto’s new album, No Better Time Than Now, is streaming over at Hypemachine today in advance of its August 20th release date; meanwhile, there are still a few copies of the record available for pre-order in The Ghostly Store.
